Choosing a Strengthening Material for Longer Natural Nails

When a client grows their natural nails longer, the service may need to change even if their favorite color stays the same. Material, structure, and maintenance should be considered together rather than simply adding a larger drop of the usual base.

Start with material behavior

Within LiNTO’s base range, BASE FRAME retains flexibility and is recommended for leveling short nails. BASE LEGEND becomes more rigid in a leveling layer and is suitable for strengthening longer natural nails.

For services requiring hard-gel modeling or repair, REPAIR GEL CLEAR and REPAIR GEL COLOR provide another route. They should be used with their own application protocols, not treated as interchangeable with every base.

Consider the structure, not just the surface

A smooth reflection is only one part of a successful overlay. The service also needs an appropriate shape and material distribution for the requested length. More product everywhere is not a substitute for a planned structure.

With hard gel, review the instructions for the foundation and natural free edge. This can involve techniques that require dedicated training rather than a quick change of bottle.

Make the maintenance plan realistic

  • Discuss the client’s daily hand use.
  • Agree on a manageable length.
  • Arrange maintenance according to the service and nail condition.
  • Ask the client to report lifting or damage rather than picking at it.

The right strengthening material is the one that fits the whole service. A coating suitable for short nails is not automatically suitable at a longer length with a thicker application.
