Form-Free Free-Edge Repairs: What CORNER GEL Can and Cannot Do

LiNTO CORNER GEL can be used in selected free-edge repairs without a conventional form. That makes it useful for localized work, but “form-free” should not be confused with unlimited extension length or a complete replacement for modeling techniques.

What gives the material control?

CORNER GEL has a thick, thixotropic consistency. It becomes more workable under brush movement while offering control at rest. LiNTO instructs professionals to mix it before use and work one finger at a time.

The material’s behavior supports precise placement. It does not decide the correct length or structure for you.

Keep the service local

The intended focus is restoring corners and working on the free edge, rather than rebuilding the full architecture of every nail. Follow the current instructions for placement, permitted increments, foundation, and curing.

Do not improvise a maximum extension from a photograph or from the fact that the gel holds its shape before curing. A visually stable uncured shape is not proof of an appropriate finished structure.

When to choose another route

  • The client requests a substantial increase in length.
  • The remaining nail does not provide a suitable starting point.
  • The service requires full structural correction.
  • You have not been trained in the proposed repair technique.

In those cases, select an appropriate modeling material and method, or reduce the requested length. A short repair can save time, but the reason to choose it is that it fits the task—not that it avoids all the planning of a structured service.
