Why PODO BASE Is Not for Building a Leveling Apex

PODO BASE is not intended for the kind of volume-building leveling often used in manicure services. Its role is a thin, flexible pedicure base. Adding a larger drop because the toenail looks uneven changes the intended service.

Work with the product’s purpose

LiNTO describes PODO BASE as fluid and flexible, designed to avoid unnecessary coating volume. It should be applied thinly, not built into a substantial apex.

Do not assume that every base can be used for the same leveling technique. A manicure material that becomes firmer in a thicker layer and a dedicated pedicure base have different roles.

Do not hide a nail change with extra material

When a toenail appears unusually uneven, thickened, discolored, or uncomfortable, assess whether the cosmetic service should proceed. A coating should not be used to conceal a change that needs professional healthcare advice.

Even where the nail is suitable for a cosmetic coating, choose the PODO protocol rather than importing a structural manicure routine.

What to do instead

  • Prepare the nail as directed by the pedicure system.
  • Apply the specified adhesion product where required.
  • Apply PODO BASE in a controlled thin layer.
  • Cure, add color if wanted, and finish with the appropriate top.

If the requested result appears to require more volume than the system is intended to provide, pause and discuss the service with a technologist. The right response is not to keep adding PODO BASE until it behaves like a different product.
