Sheer Nude Gel Polish Without Streaks

A sheer nude should let some of the natural nail show through. If you keep adding product until the free edge disappears, you may be asking a translucent shade to perform like an opaque camouflage coating.

Agree on the amount of coverage

Before application, show the client a swatch and explain the difference between a tint and full coverage. LiNTO OVER THE NUDE is intended for light, translucent effects; the natural nail remains part of the appearance.

Compare the shade with the client’s nail and skin tone in consistent lighting. A swatch alone cannot reproduce every natural nail background.

Give the color an even starting surface

Complete the foundation required by the selected system. A colored layer is not the place to correct every unevenness with extra polish.

Use a controlled amount and light, consistent brush pressure. Avoid repeatedly dragging an almost dry brush through a partly leveled layer. Check the sidewalls and tip before curing rather than trying to fix the outline after it has set.

Build only the finish you need

If the product instructions allow a second thin coat, cure the first and assess whether another will create the desired depth. More coats are not automatically a better result.

For clients wanting the free edge fully disguised, choose an appropriate camouflage product or a more opaque shade instead. A beautiful sheer manicure comes from consistent application and a clear expectation: the natural nail is visible by design, not because the color has failed to cover.
