Does a Camouflage Base Need a Clear Base Underneath?
A clear base is not automatically required under LiNTO BASE CAMOUFLAGE. The range was developed as a standalone base coating. However, that does not mean every nail and every previous system should receive exactly the same application.
When it can work on its own
Where the nail condition and product history suit the standalone protocol, apply a thin first layer of BASE CAMOUFLAGE, cure it, then apply and cure the leveling layer. The first layer and the leveling layer have separate roles even though they come from one bottle.
Do not skip the first cure simply because the color looks sufficiently even. Follow the product directions for both application stages.
When the history changes the decision
LiNTO guidance calls for a transition when moving from acidic materials to its neutral base system. In that situation, do not treat a camouflage base as a universal replacement with no change to the protocol.
Assess the retained coating, natural nail, and proposed service. Ask a LiNTO technologist which foundation and sequence fit that case instead of adding a random clear base.
Ask three questions before applying
- Is the natural nail suitable for this service?
- What material was used previously?
- Am I following the standalone or a transition protocol?
Color does not determine the answer. A base being tinted does not make a clear foundation compulsory, and a base being described as standalone does not remove the need for assessment. Choose a complete protocol first; then choose the shade.
