Why Some Nail Bases Are Applied in Two Stages

When LiNTO instructions call for a thin first layer, curing, and then a leveling layer, the first stage is not an optional rehearsal. It is part of the application protocol. Both stages matter even when the same base performs both roles.

The first layer establishes the foundation

After the required preparation, the initial layer provides a controlled coating before the leveling material is built. Apply it evenly and keep it away from skin. Cure it using the compatible lamp and schedule specified for the product.

BASE FRAME, BASE LEGEND, and BASE CAMOUFLAGE have two-stage guidance when used as both foundation and leveling material within their appropriate protocols.

The next layer has a different task

The leveling stage addresses the surface and structure needed for the service. It is not permission to create unlimited thickness. Product choice still depends on nail condition and length: BASE FRAME leveling is intended for short nails, while BASE LEGEND provides a firmer leveling option.

Avoid shortcuts that change the service

  • Do not merge two separate curing stages into one without instructions.
  • Do not replace the thin foundation with a heavy first application.
  • Do not use extra bulk to solve every strength problem.
  • Do not shorten curing because the surface already feels firm.

For example, a short-nail BASE FRAME service and a BASE FRAME foundation under BASE LEGEND are different choices, even if both involve two layers. Understanding the purpose of each layer makes the sequence easier to perform consistently—and easier to review if wear changes.
